Overview

Cartridge filter housings are the final polishing step before the point of use in industrial water systems. They remove residual particles, bacteria, and colloids not caught by upstream multimedia or activated carbon filters. Stainless steel construction (304 or 316L) is required for pharmaceutical, food & beverage, semiconductor, and cosmetics applications where polymer housings cannot withstand cleaning agents, steam, or high operating temperatures.

Engineering Features

🏥

Sanitary Design

316L electropolished interior with Ra ≤ 0.4 μm. Tri-clamp connections and dead-leg-free design for CIP/SIP compatibility.

📐

Flexible Configurations

1 to 84+ cartridge housings. Single-open-end (SOE) or double-open-end (DOE). Side-entry or top-entry designs for different space constraints.

🔩

High-Pressure Rating

Up to 2.5 MPa working pressure. Suitable for high-differential applications and high-viscosity liquids.

🌡

Temperature Resistant

Operating temperature up to 120°C for steam-sterilizable (SIP) configurations. Seals available in EPDM, PTFE, Viton, or silicone.

🔄

Quick-Release Closure

Bayonet, tri-clamp, or swing-bolt closures for rapid cartridge replacement without tools.

📋

Full Traceability

316L material certs (EN 10204 3.1), surface finish measurements, hydrostatic test records, and welding procedure records supplied.

Typical Applications

  • 💊 Pharmaceutical & Biotech — Sterile-grade filtration (0.2 μm) in USP purified water, WFI, and API manufacturing.
  • 🥤 Food & Beverage — Pre-filtration before filling, bottling, and UHT treatment lines.
  • 💻 Semiconductor / Electronics — Ultra-pure water polishing for wafer rinsing and chip manufacturing.
  • 🧴 Cosmetics & Personal Care — Pre-filtration in liquid soap, shampoo, and cream production.
  • 🏭 RO System Pre-filtration — Final 5–10 μm protection guard before RO membranes.
  • ⚗️ Laboratory Water — Feed to Milli-Q or similar ultra-pure water polishing systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I select the correct micron rating?

Match to what you need to protect downstream. For RO membranes: 5–10 μm. For sterile processes: 0.2 μm (bacteria-retentive). For general polishing: 1–5 μm. We can help you select based on your water quality data.

How often do cartridges need replacing?

Depends on upstream water quality and flow rate. Replace when differential pressure across the housing reaches 0.05–0.1 MPa, or on a time schedule (quarterly, semi-annually) — whichever comes first.

Can I use PP, PES, or PVDF cartridges in your housings?

Yes. Our housings accept standard 222/226 O-ring end cartridges from all major manufacturers (Pall, Parker, 3M, Donaldson, Pentair). Cartridge length 10″, 20″, 30″, or 40″.

What is the maximum temperature for SIP?

SIP-rated housings withstand 135°C steam for 30-minute sterilization cycles. Standard gaskets are EPDM or PTFE. We confirm gasket selection based on your sterilization protocol.

Lead time?

Standard 1–7 cartridge housings: 15–25 days. Large multi-cartridge or custom: 25–40 days.
