Overview
RO membrane pressure vessels (housings) must withstand operating pressures of 1.5–6.8 MPa (220–1,000 psi) while maintaining sanitary conditions and sealing integrity over a 10+ year service life. Standard FRP (fiberglass) housings are widely used but cannot be steam-sterilized, are chemically limited, and cannot be inspected internally. HENG RONG stainless steel housings solve all three limitations — making them the specification of choice for pharmaceutical, beverage, dairy, and semiconductor pure water applications.

Mechanical polish Ra ≤ 0.8 μm standard; electropolish Ra ≤ 0.4 μm for pharmaceutical. Internal surface is smooth, crevice-free, and fully drainable — passes pharmaceutical design requirements.

Available in 1.6, 2.5, 4.0, and 6.4 MPa (240–930 psi) pressure classes for seawater RO (SWRO) and high-rejection applications.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose stainless steel over FRP housings?
SS housings can be steam-sterilized, inspected, and cleaned with strong chemicals. They outlast FRP by 2–3× in corrosive service. Required by many pharmaceutical and food safety standards that specify metal construction.
What brine seal do you recommend?
We supply EPDM brine seals as standard. Viton (FKM) for high-temperature or chemical-resistant applications. PTFE-encapsulated for pharmaceutical applications with aggressive CIP chemicals.
Can I run SWRO membranes in your housings?
Yes. Our 4.0 MPa (580 psi) and 6.4 MPa (930 psi) rated housings are suitable for SWRO at 55–70 bar operating pressure. Specify SWRO service when ordering.
How are the vessels pressure tested?
Each vessel is hydrostatically tested at 1.5× maximum working pressure before shipment. Test records and test pressure are documented in the QC package.
Lead time?
Standard 4040/8040, 1–7 element: 20–35 days. Large custom bore or SWRO-rated: 30–50 days.
